Selelekela
System T installations typically include one or many SSL surfaces, Tempest Engines, and Network I/O units. This software release comprises control surface software and Tempest Engine card firmware updates. To identify the current software version running on any console(s), go to Menu>Setup>Service>Admin>About. Updating to V4 directly from V2 software is not supported; a V3.0 or later version must be already installed first due to significant changes to the console’s embedded operating system. V3 and later software require a one-time OS licence to update from V2. Contact support@solidstatelogic.com for further information on licensing. Refer to the V4.2.13 Features Release Notes for further information before installation.
Lemoha ka kopo: This update requires any manual IP address settings for the console’s interfaces to be verified/re-entered after the update. Ensure all fixed IP addresses are recorded before commencing this update, including the S400. If this includes S500 Meter Bridge Processors, refer to the Restore Fixed IP Address to Meter Bridge Processor section in this document for further information.

Kenya Console Software
The same USB Flat Installer is used to update the Front Panel Processor (FPP) in all System T console variants, as well as the Meter Bridge Processor (MBP) in S500/S500m surfaces. The control surface assemblies must be updated in the order detailed below. Failure to follow this order can break communication between the FPP and MBP assemblies, for example.

It is possible that the USB flat installer will not be detected when connected via ports on the console surface. Should this be the case, connect directly to the processor motherboard/carrier board USB ports. This means locating the bay position in which the processor is located and temporarily removing the relevant touch screen or surface tile to insert the USB, seating them back in their usual position while the installation process completes.
Important Note on Boot Menu Display
F7 on an external keyboard will launch the boot menu to select a boot device. In some cases, the menu will not appear from power on, and a software restart of the FPP is required by pressing the Ctrl-Alt-Del key combination before tapping F7 again.

- Within the Data drive, open the SSL/TempestBroadcast/ConfigFiles directory and locate the AdapterIpSettings_XXXXXXXXXXXX.xml files. There will be two of these – open both of them in separate NotePad windows: AdapterIpSettings_{XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX}.xml = previous config file with fixed IP address setting AdapterIpSettings_XXXXXXXXXXXX.xml = new config file with DHCP setting
- Note the new file comprises the following line: true. Copy these lines from the old file – where ‘x’ is the fixed value – then paste over the line quoted above in the new file. Leave all other lines intact, then save the new file. false x.x.x.x x.x.x.x x.x.x.x x.x.x.x

Your System T console surface may have more than one FPP for multi-operational positions or due to the large size of the surface. If you are not able to determine this, contact your local SSL Support Office. Additional FPPs in positions 2 and 3, etc., must be updated before the host FPP in position 1. This includes any remote TCR or other console surfaces configured as Members. The update instructions are the same for each:
- Connect the USB install stick to an available FPP USB port (internal if not detected externally). Connect a keyboard to any available FPP USB connection.
- Power on the console and tap F7 on the keyboard continuously to open the boot menu. Should the boot menu not appear, press Ctrl-Alt-Del then F7 again.
- Use the Up/Down arrow keys on the keyboard to select the UEFI device (USB Flat Installer), then press Enter. If there are two devices listed as per the screenshot below, select the upper UEFI option. The console will now boot from the USB Flat Installer.

- Windows Setup will begin with various progress screens, and automatic restarts will happen during this process.
Lemoha ka kopo: It may look like the installer is not active during this time. Be patient and DO NOT power cycle the console during this process. When complete, the console will boot into the usual Front Panel display/console GUI. - Navigate to the Menu>Setup>Service>Update page to confirm the Current Version for the Control Software is showing V4.2.13.67660
- Repeat the above steps for any other FPPs fitted to the console surface (Position 3, then position 1 FPP last, for example).
- Once the final FPP update has been completed, navigate to Menu>Setup>Service>Network and manually restore fixed IP address configuration – fixed IP addresses will have been reset to DHCP during this update procedure due to necessary changes in the underlying changes to adapter configuration files.

SehlophaViewer Tlhophiso
Haeba e sebelisoa, TeamViewer will need to be reinstalled and configured after this update has been applied. This requires the Admin Access function to be unlocked by a four-digit access code in Menu>Setup>Service>Admin. Contact your local SSL Support Office for an access code. For full details on the installation process, refer to System T Application Note 021.
Tempest Control App (TCA)
From V4.0 onwards, Tempest Control App (TCA) brings the full feature-set of System T into a software application with direct control of Tempest Engines. Replacing TSOLSA, the software will continue to be available free-of-charge for Offline showfile configuration and Remote connectivity to external control surfaces. With the optional Online licence, it becomes possible for TCA to directly control Tempest Engines and Dante networks. This provides new system design possibilities, including flypack, virtual, and backup control solutions for both new and existingcustomers. Download the installer package via the Support site, which includes TCA-specific installation notes that should be referred to. Update any client machines to V4.2.13 TCA software, matching the console. It is not possible to connect TCA/T-SOLSA clients that are running an older version of the software.
