4. Seta
This section describes how to properly attach the cutting accessories to your rotary tool.
- Select Mandrel: Choose one of the two 1/8-inch mandrels provided.
- Attach Cutting Wheel: For most cut-off wheels and the diamond wheel, there is a small screw on the mandrel. Unscrew it, place the desired cutting wheel onto the mandrel, and then re-tighten the screw securely. Ensure the wheel is centered and firmly held.

- Insert into Rotary Tool: Loosen the collet nut on your rotary tool. Insert the 1/8-inch shank of the assembled mandrel and cutting wheel into the collet.
- Tighten Collet: Hand-tighten the collet nut, then use the collet wrench (typically supplied with your rotary tool) to fully tighten it. Ensure the accessory is firmly secured and does not wobble.
- Test Run: Before cutting, briefly turn on the rotary tool at a low speed to ensure the accessory runs true and is properly balanced. If there is excessive vibration or wobble, re-check the attachment.

5.1 General Cutting Techniques

- Consistent Speed: Maintain a consistent rotary tool speed appropriate for the material and accessory.
- Lipalo tse ngata: For thicker materials, make several shallow passes rather than one deep cut.
- Ho pholisa: For metal cutting, consider using cutting oil or allowing the material and wheel to cool periodically to prevent overheating.
5.2 Specific Wheel Applications
Cut-Off Wheels (Fiberglass Reinforced, Standard, Heavy Duty):
- Ideal for cutting, slotting, and trimming various materials including metal, wood, and plastic.
- Fiberglass reinforced wheels offer increased durability for tougher applications.
- Use the edge of the wheel for cutting. Do not use the flat side for grinding, as this can cause the wheel to shatter.

Steel Saw Blade:
- Suitable for cutting wood, plastic, and soft metals.
- Use with caution and ensure the workpiece is firmly secured.
