2.1 Components and Display
- Sensor ea Tekanyo: Located at the blue tip, used for both ear and forehead measurements.
- Hlahisa skrine: Large, easy-to-read screen showing temperature readings, mode indicators, and battery status. It illuminates green for normal temperature and red for fever.
- Konopo ea SCAN: Central button to initiate temperature measurement.
- M Button (Memory): Accesses stored temperature readings.
- S Button (Sound/Settings): Toggles sound on/off and used for settings adjustments.
- Phetoho ea Mokhoa: Allows selection between ear and forehead measurement modes.
- Kamore ea Battery: Located at the bottom, holds the batteries.
3. Seta

Your VEROVAL Duo Scan thermometer requires 2 LR41 batteries (included). To install or replace them:
- Locate the battery compartment cover at the bottom of the device.
- Gently slide or unclip the cover to open it.
- Insert the 2 LR41 batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.

3.2 Initial Setup (Time/Date)
Upon first use or after battery replacement, you may need to set the time and date for accurate record-keeping in the memory function. Refer to the device's display for prompts or use the 'S' button to enter settings mode and adjust as needed.

4.1 Measuring Temperature
Ensure the thermometer is at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before use for optimal accuracy.

- Attach a new, clean disposable cover to the measurement sensor. This ensures hygiene and accuracy.
- Ensure the thermometer is in ear measurement mode (check the display for the ear icon).
- Gently insert the covered sensor into the ear canal. For children under 1 year, gently pull the ear straight back. For children over 1 year and adults, gently pull the ear up and back.
- Press the 'SCAN' button. The measurement will be completed in approximately one second.
- A beep will sound (if sound is enabled), and the temperature will be displayed. The display backlight will indicate temperature status (green for normal, red for fever).
- Remove the thermometer and dispose of the used cover.
4.1.2 Forehead Measurement
- Ensure the thermometer is in forehead measurement mode (check the display for the forehead icon). No disposable cover is needed for forehead measurement.
- Position the measurement sensor approximately 2-5 cm from the center of the forehead, between the eyebrows.
- Press and hold the 'SCAN' button. Slowly move the thermometer across the forehead towards the temple.
- Release the 'SCAN' button once the measurement is complete (typically a few seconds).
- The temperature will be displayed, and the backlight will indicate temperature status.
4.2 Mokhoa o khutsitseng
The VEROVAL Duo Scan thermometer features a silent mode, ideal for taking measurements without disturbing sleeping children. To activate or deactivate silent mode, press and hold the 'S' button until the sound icon on the display changes.

The thermometer stores the last 10 temperature readings. To access these readings:
- With the device turned on, press the 'M' button.
- Each subsequent press of the 'M' button will cycle through the stored readings, from most recent to oldest.
