4.2 Filling the Base for Stability

For optimal stability, the base must be filled with a combination of sand and water. The recommended filling procedure is as follows:

  1. Place the empty base in its desired location. Once filled, the base will be very heavy and difficult to move.
  2. Fill the base with sand up to at least 50% of its capacity. Approximately 220 lbs of sand is recommended.
  3. After adding sand, fill the remaining capacity with water until the base is completely full.
  4. Ensure all caps and plugs are securely tightened to prevent leakage.

  • Ensure the umbrella pole is always securely fastened to the base.
  • Regularly check the fill level of the base, especially after heavy rains or prolonged dry periods, and refill if necessary.
  • Always close your umbrella when not in use or during windy conditions to prevent the umbrella from overturning, which could damage the base or cause injury.
