3.1 Outdoor Soil Moisture Sensor (ICS0001RF)
- Nako e telele: IP65 professional rating for outdoor use, resistant to dust and water jets.
- Lipatlisiso: Features SS304 probes for precise data collection and anti-corrosion properties.
- Tekanyo: Measures soil moisture content (0% - 100% Volume Water Content) and soil temperature (-10°C to 60°C).
- Lesupa la Betri: Includes a low battery indication.
3.2 Indoor Monitor (B0135SM-Receiver)
- Hlahisa: LCD monitor for clear display of soil data.
- Pontšo ea Lintlha: Shows soil moisture levels (DRY, OK, WET, and percentage), indoor temperature, and indoor humidity (RH%).
- Khokahano: Receives data from the outdoor sensor via RF signal, with a maximum range of 80 meters.
- Katoloso: Supports connection with up to 3 soil sensors (additional sensors sold separately).
- Khopotso ea Betri: Features a low battery reminder for the monitor itself.
4. Seta
4.1 Ho kenya Betri
- Sensora ea Kantle: Open the battery compartment on the outdoor soil moisture sensor. Insert the required batteries (typically AA or AAA, refer to the battery compartment markings for exact type and polarity). Close the compartment securely to maintain its IP65 rating.
- Indoor Monitor: Open the battery compartment on the back of the indoor monitor. Insert the required batteries (typically AA or AAA, refer to the battery compartment markings for exact type and polarity). Close the compartment.
Upon battery installation, the outdoor sensor and indoor monitor should automatically connect. The indoor monitor will begin displaying data shortly.
4.2 Ho bea Sensor
- Select a location in the soil where you wish to monitor moisture. Ensure the location is representative of the plant's root zone.
- Gently push the probes of the outdoor soil moisture sensor into the soil until the base of the sensor is flush with the soil surface. Avoid forcing the sensor, which could damage the probes.
- Ensure the outdoor sensor is within the 80-meter wireless range of the indoor monitor. Obstacles like thick walls or metal structures can reduce this range.
5. Ts'ebetso
5.1 Reading the Indoor Monitor
The indoor monitor's LCD screen provides the following information:
- Soil Moisture Level: E hlahisoa e le liperesentetage (0-100%) and categorized as DRY, OK, or WET. The monitor updates soil moisture data approximately every 6 minutes.
- Thempereichara ea Ka hare: Shows the ambient temperature around the indoor monitor in Celsius (°C).
- Mongobo: Displays the relative humidity (RH%) around the indoor monitor.
- Letšoao la Channel: If multiple sensors are used, the channel number (e.g., CH1, CH2) will indicate which sensor's data is currently displayed.
- Lesupa la Betri e Tlase: An icon will appear to indicate low battery for either the sensor or the monitor.
5.2 Bluetooth Connectivity (Optional)
The RAINPOINT SK0101 also supports Bluetooth connectivity to a compatible smartphone application for remote monitoring and data logging. Refer to the RAINPOINT app instructions for pairing and usage details. Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled and the device is within range.
6. Tlhokomelo
- Phetoho ea Betri: Replace batteries in both the outdoor sensor and indoor monitor when the low battery indicator appears. Use fresh, high-quality batteries for optimal performance.
- Ho Hloekisa Sensor: Periodically remove the outdoor sensor from the soil and gently clean the probes with a soft cloth to remove any soil buildup or debris. This ensures accurate readings.
- Tšireletso ea Metsi: While the outdoor sensor is IP65 rated, ensure the battery compartment is always securely closed to prevent water ingress, especially after battery changes.
- Polokelo: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries from both units and store them in a dry, cool place.
7. Ho rarolla mathata
- No Display on Indoor Monitor:
- Check if batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge in both the sensor and monitor.
- Ensure the monitor is powered on. - No Soil Data Displayed / Sensor Not Connecting:
- Verify that the outdoor sensor is within the 80-meter wireless range of the indoor monitor.
- Reduce potential interference from large metal objects or thick walls.
- Re-insert batteries in both units to force a re-connection. - Inaccurate Soil Moisture Readings:
- Ensure the sensor probes are fully inserted into the soil and are making good contact.
- Clean the sensor probes if there is significant soil buildup.
- The sensor measures moisture at its probe depth; ensure this depth is relevant to your plant's roots. - Ho Hlakola Battery ka Potlako:
- Ensure the battery compartments are sealed correctly, especially for the outdoor sensor, to prevent moisture from affecting the electronics.
- Use high-quality alkaline batteries.
- Extreme temperatures can affect battery life. - Bluetooth Connectivity Issues (if using app):
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
- Make sure the device is within close proximity to your phone during pairing.
- Restart the RAINPOINT app or your phone.
- Re-pair the device through the app settings.
