The charger features four individual charging slots for AA or AAA batteries and LED indicators above each slot to show the charging status.

4.1 Ho hokela tjhaja
- Ensure the charger is clean and dry before connecting to power.
- Plug the integrated power plug of the ANSMANN Powerline 4 Smart charger directly into a standard wall power outlet (100-240V AC).

- Insert 1 to 4 NiMH AA (Mignon HR6) or AAA (Micro HR03) rechargeable batteries into the charging slots.

5.1 Mokhoa oa ho tjhaja
Once batteries are correctly inserted and the charger is plugged in, the charging process begins automatically for each individual battery. The LED indicator above each slot will show the charging status:
- Flashing e Tala: Pre-charge mode (initial phase of charging).
- Khubelu: Fast charge mode (main charging phase).
- Botala: Ready / Trickle charge mode (battery is fully charged and maintained).
- Red Flashing: Defective battery detected.
The charging time for a 1000 mAh battery is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. For a 2500 mAh battery, it is approximately 6 hours.

5.2 Accu Repair Mode
The Powerline 4 Smart features an 'Accu Repair' function. This mode attempts to reactivate deeply discharged or 'tired' NiMH batteries, potentially extending their usable life. This process is automatic and integrated into the charging cycle.
5.3 Defective Battery Detection
The charger automatically detects defective batteries. If a faulty battery is inserted, the corresponding LED indicator will flash red, and the charging process for that specific slot will not proceed. Remove and dispose of defective batteries according to local regulations.
