  2. Khetholla Lithapo: Identify the LINE (incoming power from breaker) and LOAD (outgoing power to other outlets) wires. Also identify the hot (black), neutral (white), and ground (green/bare copper) wires.
  3. Hokela Ground Wire: Connect the bare copper or green insulated ground wire from the circuit box to the green ground screw on the GFCI outlet.
  4. Connect LINE Wires: Connect the incoming hot (black) LINE wire to the brass LINE terminal screw and the incoming neutral (white) LINE wire to the silver LINE terminal screw.
  5. Connect LOAD Wires (Optional): If protecting downstream outlets, connect the outgoing hot (black) LOAD wire to the brass LOAD terminal screw and the outgoing neutral (white) LOAD wire to the silver LOAD terminal screw. If not protecting downstream outlets, cap the LOAD wires individually.
  6. Secure Outlet: Carefully fold wires into the wall box and secure the GFCI outlet with mounting screws.

  4. If the GFCI fails to trip or reset, it may be faulty or improperly wired. Discontinue use and consult a qualified electrician.

Resetting the GFCI

If the GFCI trips (RESET button pops out), it indicates a ground fault has occurred. To restore power, unplug any devices from the outlet, then press the RESET button firmly. If the GFCI immediately trips again, there may still be a ground fault or a wiring issue. Investigate the cause before attempting to reset again.
